If you are
looking for a little Italian Restaurant in Nashua NH, then head on down to 194 Main St.
in the heart of downtown Nashua. Villa Banca, in beautiful Downtown Nashua, NH,
is located in a renovated bank.
Villa Banca,
which means ‘house bank’ in Italian, serves up food worth its weight in GOLD!
If you are Italian, other than ‘Mama’s’ home made cooking, this is the closest
thing you will find north of Boston’s “North End” to call great! You will be
thoroughly impressed with the décor, as it isn't the typical ‘cheesy’ grape
vines, wine bottles, and Italian flags you so often find in these types of
eateries. It is very tastefully decorated.
Speaking of tasteful, let’s get back to
the food! The place is busy, especially on weekends. One of the best tables is
right next to the vault door that was originally in the bank! It is mounted to
the wall, reversed, so you can see the intricate workings of it.
At Villa
Banca, pace yourself, or you will be full before dinner! Between ‘Zuppe e Pane’
(soup and bread), ‘Antipasti’ (appetizers) and ‘Insalate’ (salads), you could
easily be full before the ‘Secondi’ (means second, so it’s really the Entrée)
and for that entrée, try the Veal and Lobster. It is a breaded scaloppini,
topped with sautéed lobster and mozzarella and broccoli with a white wine/lemon
sauce over angel hair pasta… Absolutely delicious!
The atmosphere of violinist
music is a great addition, and your night will be truly memorable. If you are
looking for traditional Italian cuisine in NH, then you have to try Villa Banca…Everybody Mangia!
