How Can I Make The LS7 Engine Faster?

Golen Engine is your home for LSx and LT1 engines!

Are you looking to build an absolute BEAST of a car? Do you have a 2006 Corvette that you want to be even FASTER? Take a look at Golen Engine Service, and you will see why they are an industry leader in solid performance engines!

The LS7 displaces 7.0 liters - 427 cubic inches - and is standard equipment in the 2006 Corvette Z06. It is identified by red engine covers and is based on the new Gen IV small-block architecture.

Unlike the previous Corvette Z06 engine, the LS7 Engine has a separate and distinct engine block casting and reciprocating assembly than the base Corvette engine. And when compared to the LS2, it has a different front cover, oil pan, exhaust manifolds and cylinder heads.

The unique block accommodates large-displacement cylinders, while other components make use of racing-derived lightweight components to help boost horsepower and rpm capability.
The LS7's specifications are significant for a production engine:
  • 505 horsepower @ 6200 rpm
  • 475 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4800 rpm
  • 7000-rpm redline
  • Unique engine block with larger 104.8-mm (4.125-inch) bores and pressed-in cylinder liners
  • Forged steel crankshaft with 101.6-mm (4-inch) stroke
  • Titanium connecting rods
  • Cast aluminum flat-top pistons
  • Racing-derived CNC-ported aluminum cylinder heads with titanium intake valves and sodium-filled exhaust valves
  • Dry-sump oiling system
  • 11.0:1 compression ratio
  • Camshaft with 15-mm (.591-inch) lift
  • Hydro-formed exhaust headers with unique "quad flow" collector flanges.
All LS7 engines are assembled by hand at GM's new Performance Build Center in Wixom, Mich. The exacting standards to which they are built include deck-plate boring and honing of the cylinders and even crank line-boring of the block with the deck plates and side bolts installed - procedures normally associated with the building of racing engines are almost unheard of in a production-vehicle engine.

"In many ways, the LS7 is a racing engine in a street car," said Dave Muscaro, assistant chief engineer of small-block V-8 for passenger cars. "We've taken much of what we've learned over the years from the 7.0-liter C5R racing program and instilled it here. There really has been nothing else like it offered in a GM production vehicle."

Indeed, the LS7's engineers spent as much time at racetracks as they did at engine dynamometers. Everything from the cylinder heads to the unique dry-sump oiling system has a direct line back to the racing program. But while the LS7 has racing roots, it delivers its performance with uncompromising smoothness and tractability - qualities that make the Corvette Z06 a daily-drivable supercar. So, if you want even MORE power and performance out of an LS7, contact Chad Golen at 800-591-9171. For all of your vehicle needs, check out Golen Engine Service. They will hook you up right!

Why Should You Invest in Local Businesses?

Many people shop at big box stores and regional chains because they offer “competitive” pricing and a perceived better return on their dollar. However, taking those same dollars and putting them into a local business can benefit you in some other major ways. Town Planner can help with any advertising in NH for your local business. A free, colorful, full hanging wall calendar is always directly mailed to local residents and businesses each December. A few major ways this is beneficial are:

Your Local Economy

Many local companies also pride themselves on being involved in their community and will give back to schools and sports organizations.

It’s All About Advertising

Lots of businesses depend on word of mouth advertising, but advertising in the local media is a better way to increase business. Social media is excellent, but has the potential to miss clients, as people from all over the country--and world--can see your ads. To target their clientele effectively, a small business should invest in local media.

While some people do not think to shop at small businesses, others embrace the opportunity because of the steady growth and overall benefits that come from supporting these businesses. The best way to support your local economy is to stand by the businesses that often make the economy possible. When you support a local business, everyone in your area profits!

Why is it Important To Brand Your Safety Gear?

When people think “safety gear” they think of safety vests, hard hats and other things. However, did you know that branding your safety gear could be a smart choice? At Think Logoed Merchandise, you can discover why it is always important to put your brand on your gear, clothing, etc. Below are three main reasons why branding corporate safety gear is a good idea!

Visibility

Most employees wear safety gear to increase visibility in dangerous or dark areas or to protect themselves. A safety vest, for example, can be a low-cost way to keep your employees from being hurt if they’re working in the street. Some roadside crews also need a vest with special pockets to carry certain tools, or may need a vest that is water repellant. These vests usually cannot be found easily except online or through special catalogs. If you have several crews in the same area that aren’t from the same company, branded safety gear can also let you easily spot who’s who.

Brand Awareness

Another thing business owners should consider is branding their safety gear with the company logo. Whether it’s a small patch on the front pocket of a safety vest or a large patch on the back of a bright neon yellow shirt, you will promote your company because people will see the brand on the shirt. Also, if a vest or sweatshirt goes missing, it can easily be returned to your company.

Cost Effective

Custom designing your company logo and getting it screen printed or embroidered onto your employee’s safety wear can seem like a costly feat, but many companies offer discounts if you order safety wear in bulk from them. If you are part of an organization or even a government job, you may qualify for additional discounts.

For many people, safety wear is just another part of the job. Instead of having the same wear that everyone else does, consider branding your company’s safety gear today! Contact Think Logoed Merchandise today at 800-990-4141. The professionals there can help you to put together your brand awareness so your business shines!

What is Childhood Apraxia of Speech?

Childhood apraxia of speech is a motor speech disorder. The child has difficulty working the muscles in the face and tongue in order to produce speech. The child knows what he or she wants to say but cannot coordinate the muscles to produce the words. Speech therapy in your local area of NH or MA can help. The Therapy & Learning Center realizes how important it is to help children with this difficulty. Now with better understanding, they do not have to feel alone.

Symptoms

Infants may not babble or “coo”. Younger children may have difficulty saying longer words or phrases, or may have difficulty when he or she is anxious. For older children, this issue can be tough to deal with as he or she may be teased at school for having difficulty with language, or may appear to understand language better than he or she can talk. Sometimes, children with apraxia may have delayed language development and may be hypersensitive (over sensitive) or hyposensitive (under sensitive). Some may not like toothbrushes or crunchy foods, or cannot tell the shape of an object in their mouth.

Diagnosis

A speech pathologist can check for weakness in the facial muscles and have the child imitate non-speech movements such as smiling and pursing the lips. A speech pathologist will also listen to the child and determine how well he or she can pronounce certain sounds and how well others can understand the child’s speech.

Treatment

Individual, intense therapy sessions work best for starting out. As the child improves, group therapy may be more appropriate. Practice at home is very important and the child’s family will be asked to help the child practice his or her speech. Apraxia is not a disorder of the muscles, so exercises designed to “strengthen” the muscles will not work.

When a child has a speech disorder, it can be upsetting for everyone involved. With your patience, understanding and support, the child may soon either overcome the disorder completely or work with the disorder in order to feel normal again. Contact the Therapy & Learning Center at 603-577-5517 or visit them at 142 Main Street, Suite 206 in Nashua, NH. You can feel comfortable and rest assured that you or your child no longer has to work through this disorder alone.

Looking For A Great Place To Live in The City?

Many people want to find a New York apartment of their very own to live in; but may find NYC apartments prohibitively expensive. However, many people like Astoria for its inexpensive housing, safety and proximity to Manhattan and Brooklyn. With the help of NY Space Finders, you can find a beautiful luxury apartment in Astoria, NY.

About Astoria

Astoria, NY is very much an immigrant city. Today’s neighborhood is as culturally diverse as it was over one hundred years ago, with pockets of Middle Eastern, Turkish, Russian, Hispanic and Asian, as well as many Greek and Italian people. At the turn of the 20th century it was a playground for the rich and many shipping executives lived in the houses near Shore Boulevard. The opening of the Queensboro Bridge in 1909 brought in the first waves of Irish and Italian immigrants, followed by others who were attracted to the many industrial businesses located throughout the neighborhood.

Pros

Today’s person on a budget will be happy to note that even though Astoria seems too good to be true, it actually isn’t. The architecture is mostly older style townhomes and prewar construction, so no brownstone apartments for people to fall in love with here. The nightlife in the area does not compare to nearby Brooklyn; but fortunately, the trains can easily take you into midtown Manhattan if you desire. Rent is much cheaper than in Manhattan, with a nice two-bedroom apartment in Astoria NY fetching an average price of about $3000 per month. One-bedroom apartments will run you about $2000. Crime, trash and graffiti are for the most part nonexistent; as NYC has prided itself on lowering the crime rate since the 1990’s.

Many people choose Astoria for its cultural diversity, its cheap price and the convenience of the transit system to get to where you want to go. If you are considering a move to NYC or want to move out of your apartment, then give Astoria a try! Contact NY Space Finders today and you can turn your dream of living in a great part of the city, into a reality!

A Quick History of Gymnastics

When people think “aerobics” they think of a typical scene from the 1980’s-women dressed in leotards and leg warmers sweating in gyms to a semi-sadistic trainer. The sport of aerobic gymnastics, however, combines the best of aerobics’ strength building and dynamic bodybuilding with the beauty, flexibility and agility of gymnastics. Here is a brief history about gymnastics if you are looking to join your local gymnastics in NH class but want a little more information first:

History

Aerobic gymnastics was invented in the 1980’s. The sport evolved from traditional aerobics classes, combining almost dancelike routines designed to increase strength, coordination and flexibility with high energy, fast paced music. In aerobic gymnastics, the gymnast must choreograph his or her own routines with music, incorporating the seven aerobic basic steps and make certain the performance is smooth, continuous and flows well. The seven steps of marching, jogging, skipping, lifting, kicking, and lunging must be included. The gymnast may use a combination of all floor exercises, all exercises using apparatus, or can combine the two. Team routines are often made more difficult, both to impress the audience and to gather a higher score from the judges. Team routines often incorporate lifts and difficulty elements.

Oxygen

“Aerobic” literally means “with oxygen”. Aerobic exercise is a form of exercise that uses oxygen to produce energy. The exercise must last for about 20 minutes in order for the heart muscle to strengthen and the participant to achieve target heart rate. Aerobic exercise strengthens the heart and lungs, allowing the muscle to pump more blood to parts of the body with fewer heartbeats.

Championships

Championships are held once every two years, such as the Aerobic Gymnastics European Championships, where people from all over Europe practice their sport. In 1994, the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique organized world championships and structured aerobic gymnastics. The FIG Congress hopes to one day include the sport in the Olympics.

If you're looking to enroll a child in gymnastics, or maybe you're interested in trying it out for yourself, check out the Nashua School of Gymnastics.
